Introduction
Typically before class, we'll begin with one of two activities. They will alternate week-to-week, and people will be selected, generally, two at a time at the end of one class for the next.
Show 'n' Tell
You will, for approximately 5 (five) minutes, discuss:
- a physical object you bring in to class and give time to pass around.
- pictures of a recent trip.
- pictures of your pet.
- work from another class.
- images from your sketchbook.
- a short PowerPoint about an interest or hyper-fixation or obsession.
And be prepared to field questions about them.
There will be a folder in the class drive for these, more for convenience, if, for example, I am to open and navigate your presentation.
Stoopid Time
Stoopid Time is intended to truly test/prove the idea that there are no stupid questions.
You will be asked to create three questions, they should be:
- A question so absurd or abstract, so as to not have a real answer (i.e. "Why does the sky look like stinkiness?")
- A question so technically specific or complex, so as to not have an answer I (as the professor) can easily access.
- This has also sometimes been something closer to a hypothetical question.
I will either attempt to answer and then put it to the group. We may not get to all your questions. If there is a specific one you'd like to do start with that one.
