Let's start class off in a clean way.
What we'll be doing
We'll set a timer for about 10 minutes. You'll think of as many preconceptions as you can that you have to do with any or all of the following topics:
- technology
- artificial intelligence
- college (specifically Purchase)
- college (in general)
- learning
- creativity
- your work ethic
- your limits as a creative person
- your aspirations for your future
- your own capacity
Write as many as you can, don't worry about what other people are writing. Don't worry about how much you are or are not writing. Really hone in on your own experience, your own body, and your own thoughts. I'd encourage you to do this on a piece of paper, though a computer is acceptable, that being said hopefully it is clear to not send it to gippity, or look up anything.
Towards the end, I'll signal people to stop, and we may, depending on time, review their individual list.
PICK ONE THAT YOU DEEM TO BE MOST IMPORTANT!
ONLY ONE!
After this, we'll each throw our preconceptions into the "fire" (not a real one, hopefully that's obvious).
For the sake of building the group dynamic, please consider sharing your preconception though you have no obligation to do so.
Note for Grading
(This activity itself is ungraded, however it will factor into your participation, and is ultimately for esprit de corps)
